The production of this tutorial is a bit difficult. The author's introduction process is a bit simple, and many details of the production are not explained. The general idea: First, deal with the character part: such as cutout, color adjustment, etc., and then add some water drop materials. You can use brushes and water drop materials for this part. The last step is color grading.
Original picture
final effect
1. Open the original image material, draw a path for the body part of the character (cut out the image, small tip: enlarge the image to 800%, and then trace points against the virtual edge) and then press Ctrl + Enter to turn the path into a selection, press Ctrl + Alt + D Feather 1 pixel, then press Ctrl + J to copy the selection, and cut out the effect as shown below.
2. Create a new 500 * 750 pixel file, drag the cutout image into it, and execute: Image > Adjustment > Gradient Mapping on the character. The color settings and effects are as shown below.
3. Reduce the saturation of the adjusted image, then press Ctrl + U to adjust the hue/saturation. Choose the color you like. Because it is based on the material, adjust it to dark cyan. The effect is as shown below.
4. Then add water material. You can download some splash and water drop materials, or you can use the water drop material below. When adding, the connection part needs to be made more natural.
