This article is not only a tutorial on lighting effect filters, but also provides a usage of Gaussian blur filter.
Final effect 1. First create a 500x500 image with a dark background color, then write some words in a light color, and rasterize the text layer (Layer->Rasterize->Text).
2. Hold down the Ctrl key and click the text layer in the layer panel to select the text, switch to the channel panel, click the button below to save the selection as a channel.
3. Activate the Alpha 1 channel just saved, keep the text part selected, and execute Filter->Blur->Gaussian Blur several times. The first blur radius is 9px, the second blur radius is 6px, and the third blur radius is 3px. The fourth time is 1px. The purpose of this is to produce a smooth transition from the text font to the background color.
