1. Create a new 700X500, 72DPI, white background file, create a new layer on the background layer, and use the pen tool to draw the outline of the car. You don’t need to draw the wheels yet. As shown below.
2. Convert the path into a selection and fill it with red. Then create a new layer 2. First draw the outline of the car lights and convert it into a selection. As shown below.
3. Use the brush tool to roughly paint the color of the car lights with different shades of gray. The lights on the right should be painted with darker gray due to perspective and lighting reasons.
4. Outline the metal part at the rear of the car light with a pen and turn it into a selection. Set the foreground color to beige and use a brush to draw the bright part of the metal part of the car light. (Picture 4) The other car lights are also completed one by one in the same way.
5. Create a new layer above layer 2, and then draw the car light bulb part. When drawing, pay attention to try to show the gloss of the high-gloss coating of the car light! Also pay attention to adjusting the stroke size in a timely manner. While painting, if there is an area that feels too stiff, you can use the blur tool, adjust the appropriate pressure, and paint on the edges to soften it. (Figure 6) (Figure 7)
6. Create a new layer above the top layer and draw the welding lines around the plexiglass panel of the car lights. On this layer, you can also draw all the welding lines of all the divided parts of the body at the same time. (Explain how to draw black lines: You can first use the pen tool to draw all black lines in the form of a single line, then set the foreground color to black, and then use the foreground color to stroke the path under the path panel) (Figure 8 )
7. Use the blur tool to blur the black lines to make them look soft, and use the eraser tool to adjust the pressure to about 20-30. Rub the surface of the car and the light-receiving edge of the black line seams a little lighter! Of course, just wiping is not enough! You can also hold down CTRL and click on the black line layer, and use gray and dark red to modify the local color to make it look more realistic.
8. Create a new layer below the top layer, OK! We are now going to paint the black rubber strips around the windshield and side windows of the car and the wiper in front of the windshield. When painting, you can use a pen to outline the outline of the rubber, then select the area, use a brush, and use black and gray as the color.
9. Next, create a new layer below the layer of the black rubber strips you just painted, and draw all the objects in the car! In order to make it easier to apply when painting, you can also create a few more layers to paint. It’s up to you, it doesn’t matter! And because this is just an object in the car, there is no need to make it too clear, because there will be a windshield on top of it! There is a high gloss on the glass, so the interior layout of the car cannot be seen clearly! (Figure 11) Figure 12)
Figure 12
10. Create a new layer on the top and draw all the air guides, turn signals and other small objects on the surface of the car body. The drawing method is also to mark with a pen, select the area, use the brush to select the color and apply it, and use the blur tool to make soft chemical treatment. (Figure 13) (Figure 14)
Figure 14
11. Come down and create a new layer above the layer of the internal objects of the car body to paint the highlights of the windshield and side windows. When painting, increase the stroke of the brush to about 70-80 and the hardness to 0. Use the highlight part first. Outline with the pen and turn it into a selection. Use the set brush to quickly draw it across the selection. Pay attention to controlling the mouse, try not to shake it and pay attention to the depth (as shown in the picture below)
12. Next is a very important step. Whether the car has texture will be reflected from here. Okay, let’s talk about how to do it. First, add black caulking to the layers of small objects such as air guides and turn signals that were painted previously. Create a new layer below the line layer, use the pen tool to outline the dark parts of the car first, turn it into a selection, and use a darker red than the red of the car body, and use the brush tool to paint out the dark parts first! When painting, use a larger brush stroke and pay attention to the changes in light and shade in different parts. Try to hold the mouse steady and paint the shadows evenly and smoothly. (Figure 16)
