This tutorial introduces some simple Photoshop image synthesis methods , such as the cup of coffee with a world map below. The key to compositing is to blend the materials together without leaving any trace, especially the color must be consistent with the environment, so that the overall look will be real.

1. First open the original image material and Xiamen map material.
2. Use the move tool to drag (or copy and paste) the map material into the picture of the coffee cup, and then ctrl+T to transform it to the approximate size of the cup mouth.
3. Hold down the ctrl key and click on the thumbnail of that map layer to "load selection".
4. Filter-Distort-Spherize to make the map slightly curved so that it doesn’t feel too flat.
5. Cancel the small eyes in front of the background layer of the coffee cup.
