Let’s take a look at the final renderings first

1. Open a photo material that needs to be converted into a poster effect, execute CTRL+ALT+~ to bring up the highlight selection, then execute inverse selection, and execute CTRL+J to copy the selection content, and set the blending mode of the copied layer to Screen.

2. In order to further brighten this material photo, we will copy the layer copied in the previous step.

3. Create a new layer, execute CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E to stamp the visible layer, then add a mask to the stamped layer, then hide layer 1 and the copy layer, and then use the black brush tool to Paint the characters and sky under layer mask.

4. Click the "Create New Fill or Adjustment Layer" button at the bottom of the Layers Panel, select Create a Color Balance Adjustment Layer, and set the color levels to -29, 0, -19 under midtones; then use the black brush tool Paint the ground where the character is standing on the mask.

5. Then create a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and set the parameters to -28, -23, 0 in the blue state.

6. Create a Curves adjustment layer to brighten the picture of the photo, and then use the black brush tool to paint around the character and photo on the mask to create a vignetting effect.

7. Create a new layer and stamp it, run Filter-Render-Lighting Effects, then set the layer mask, and use the black brush tool to paint out the areas that do not require lighting effects.
