This example mainly introduces three methods for making sugar water tones, namely: Lab color mode; color overlay mode; brush overlay mode.
Lab color mode
Lab color mode is represented by two color components a and b and a lightness component L, where the value of a gradually changes from "green" to "red", and the value of b gradually changes from "blue" to "yellow", and then Combined with changes in "brightness" to simulate a variety of colors.
The Lab color mode has good sugar-water tone effect and is fast, but it is bluish, and is suitable for portrait photo processing with high-key white background. Otherwise, it will affect the discoloration of the scenery and clothing. If you use this method to only produce the skin part, and combine it with the picture Further processing as a whole will achieve a more ideal effect.
Detailed operation explanation
1. First, open the original photo, as shown in Figure 1-1. Press the Ctrl+J shortcut key to copy the background copy layer, and then select the "Image-Adjustment-Mode Lab Color" command to convert the color mode of the picture to Lab mode, as shown in Figure 1-2.
2. Select the "a" channel in the channel panel, press "Ctrl+A" to select all images in the channel, and press "Ctrl+C" to copy. Then select the "b" channel and press "Ctrl+V" to paste. After adjustment, select Lab color mode, you can find that the color of the image has changed, and the basic sugar water tone has come out. As shown in Figure 1-3, Figure 1-4, and Figure 1-5.
3. Since the color of the character's lips is yellowed after adjusting the Lab channel, we can click the "Add Layer Mask" button in the Layers Panel, and then select the black "Brush Tool" to paint the character's lips on the mask layer. , restore the color of the character's lips and make them look more natural. As shown in Figure 1-6.
4. Press the "Ctrl+E" shortcut key to merge the layers, then press Ctrl+J to copy a new layer, and set the new layer's blending mode to "Soft Light" and the unseen brightness to "20%". This will Use the character's skin tone to appear more transparent. As shown in Figure 1-7.
5. At this point, the operation method of using Lab color mode to generate sugar water skin is completed. Finally, the image in Lab color mode can be converted back to RGB color mode. The final effect is shown in Figure 1-8.
color overlay mode
The color overlay mode is to fill the layer with color and change the blending mode of the layer, so that the filled color is overlaid on the character's skin, thereby achieving the effect of sugary skin.
The color overlay mode has its own advantages and different performance effects than the Lab color mode. The adjustment method of color overlay mode has relative advantages in production speed, and it can adjust the desired skin color arbitrarily. However, when faced with pictures with too complicated backgrounds, it becomes a bit difficult to create selections and fill in colors. Based on comprehensive evaluation, this method is not convenient for selecting and making complex selection areas, and it is easy to leave traces. When facing complex backgrounds, this method has certain difficulties in establishing selection areas.
Detailed operation explanation
1. First, open the original photo, as shown in Figure 2-2. Select the "Quick Selection Tool", click the "Add to Selection" button in the property bar, and set the "Brush" value to "20px", as shown in Figure 2-2.
2. Use the "Quick Selection Tool" and drag on the character's skin. When done manually, the selection will expand outward and automatically find and follow the edges defined in the image, as shown in Figure 2-3.
