Lao Kou: Hello everyone, I am very happy to discuss with you how to make educational sites profitable. I won’t waste everyone’s time with pleasantries and will get to the point directly. I don’t need to tell you how big and promising the domestic education market is. Everyone knows that with the in-depth development of the Internet, the domestic education industry environment has made great progress relying on the Internet as a tool. Several companies have been listed in the country. You can see this from online schools such as Zhengbao Education Group, Openg, etc.
Today I roughly classify educational websites suitable for small and medium-sized webmasters into the following eight types:

2. Comprehensive portals (college entrance exam portal, high school entrance exam portal, postgraduate entrance exam portal, primary and secondary school portal, overseas portal, etc.) everyone can find reference websites in every field.

7. Foreign language sites (listening, grammar, writing)

Everyone can choose the field they are good at according to their own hobbies, starting with a single subdivision. Before doing this, you must first conduct a thorough analysis of the upstream, midstream, and downstream aspects of this field. Only in this way can you operate the entire site with clear goals and achieve profitability as quickly as possible.
For example, for exam sites, the upstream is usually the government and education department, which officially formulates the exam system, exam time, admission time and policies, etc. Only by clarifying all exam times and policies can we prepare the content in a well-targeted manner.

After completing the above system analysis, the structure of the entire site will be very clear. Since we are an educational site, please stop posting messy content, which will have a bad impact on users. In terms of site properties, these are the basic frameworks. In terms of profit model, in addition to advertising alliances such as Google, Baidu, and online schools, there are also hard advertisements, and some local educational institutions are willing to place some brand advertisements. The other is the so-called "agent enrollment" that everyone is familiar with but unfamiliar to.
What share does enrollment account for in the education market? There seems to be no unified official statistics on this. From my personal experience, in cities with relatively developed private education markets such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, etc., the market share of agency enrollment should account for 8% - 15%. How to get a share of this agency recruitment field?
I will personally make a simple analysis of the private college admissions fields that I am familiar with. The enrollment of private colleges and universities has gone through ten years of ups and downs, and various bad incidents have occurred around the core of enrollment. However, no matter what, the admissions office is an institution that any school cannot do without, and it is the core driving force. No educational institution can survive without enrolling students. Private universities are profit-making institutions that operate in a corporate manner for the education market. The drive to maximize profits causes them to contribute 10-20% of their turnover to enrollment agents in order to obtain the maximum number of students. source of students. To recruit students as an agent, you must first find a school that you can cooperate with. You must sign a formal cooperation agreement and obtain a power of attorney. In this way, once the enrollment is completed and the remuneration is settled, if the school violates the rules, you can protect your rights and interests. The most lacking thing in the admissions industry is integrity. Some schools are dishonest, and some agents are dishonest. Students and parents are the ones who are harmed. I hope that if webmasters are recruiting agents, they must be honest, self-disciplined and self-respecting, and shoulder their due responsibilities. Irregular schools will resolutely stop cooperation no matter how much they pay. The admissions industry has created many multi-millionaires and ruined the futures of many people with evil intentions. Incidents such as illegal enrollment and arrests for defrauding enrollment fees occur every year.
In 2009, the enrollment of private colleges and universities in the country faced a major reshuffle. The enrollment of hundreds of private colleges and universities fell into a trough. Some schools invested millions of funds and only recruited a few dozen students. Some schools lost their enrollment in October 2009. Declared bankrupt, some failed to pass the annual inspection of the government education department at the end of the year and were delisted. This is also a blow to the enrollment industry. Faced with the market’s underestimation, we need to reflect on why such a situation occurs. Part of the reason is that private colleges and universities were too eager for quick success and quick gains in enrollment in the past, which hurt batches of students and parents. Regarding the future of education, as shareholders of private universities are eager to make profits and invest a large amount of money in enrollment and shareholder dividends, less and less funds are spent on teaching and scientific research, resulting in low teacher pay, few full-time teachers, and poor teaching quality of part-time teachers hired. There is no guarantee that students will not learn anything in school, and the dropout rate of students in most private colleges and universities is alarming. However, as the state pays attention to private higher education and provides policy support, some truly powerful private capital is being continuously injected into this market. For example, New Oriental is already preparing to build its own private university. Tiens Academy run by Tianjin Tiens Group, etc. After some elimination and filtering, only some strong private colleges and universities survived. These schools will pay more attention to investment in education research and development, and will be more honest with the agent recruitment group.
