The Spring Festival in February is the busiest time for businesses, so I did not continue to do business. I used the Spring Festival time to research the website and made a revision. It has been three days since the revision. According to Baidu’s feedback, this revision has not affected the inclusion and ranking. Since there was no business in February, only a few monthly advertisements continued. The day before yesterday, a merchant called me to build a website. The merchant accidentally browsed the website and saw her friend's webpage. She thought it was very good, so she found me through her friend. After setting up the website, the merchant also purchased advertising space for three months, and also made an appointment for advertising in a tea shop. The income in February is about 1,000.
Let's talk about the operation experience of the website with all the webmaster brothers. These are all my personal opinions. I hope the webmaster brothers will correct me if I am wrong. I welcome all the webmaster brothers to study and study together, so that we can make progress together!
(1) Website positioning
Positioning is crucial!
My website has been in operation since 2007, from 2007 to November 2010. During this period, the website has been positioned on classified information. After several unsuccessful revisions and program changes, the accumulated weight of the website has never been high. There is basically no income. I just rely on Baidu Alliance and GG to maintain it, and I can basically earn space and domain name fees. The positioning of classified information is actually very good. I didn’t do it well because I didn’t put in the effort. There are outstanding websites in every industry, no matter what the positioning is. Just do it with your heart and operate it with your heart! You will achieve certain results. Don't just download a program, post some content and just leave it there. Don't just talk but don't do it. Only in the process of doing can you find problems and in the process of solving problems can you make continuous progress.
Starting from October 2010, I positioned the website as a merchant network. I think businesses need advertising services and intra-city promotion. If it can bring benefits and visibility to the merchants, the merchants will be happy to place advertisements. Preliminary practice proved that my idea was right. Because during the Spring Festival in February, I did not take the initiative to go to merchants to do business. One merchant introduced another merchant and sold advertisements for three months. The merchant introduced established the website in December 2010. He is also an advertiser and has booked advertising for the next quarter. I also made a reservation at a tea shop next door.
Don’t change the website positioning easily. Personally, I feel that if one project is completed to the extreme, it will be better than carrying out many projects at the same time. (Because one person is running the operation, his energy and ability are limited.) It is better for a personal website to be large and comprehensive than to be specialized and refined! If it's a team operation, that's a different story.
(2) Website details
Details determine success or failure
User experience, turning the original cumbersome operations into the simplest operations. I haven't been successful at this, and I've been working hard to simplify user operations. My ability is limited, I don’t understand PHP, I only know HTML, and I cannot fundamentally solve the problem programmatically. We can only try to simplify the steps that should be operated by the visitor as much as possible, and try to have the webmaster perform the operations in the background. (Originally, merchants needed to register and open various channels to build a website.) Now registration and opening of various channels are omitted. Merchants only need to submit an application to build a website, and the registration and opening of channels are done by the webmaster in the background.
There are so many places that require attention to details, and you can’t ignore them just because they are small. It can be said that every detail must be paid attention to and done with care. It's easier said than done. Like SEO, the details need to be worked out slowly. Details can never be done right because new problems are often discovered.
(3) Professionalization
If you want to make a good website, you must be professional
Personal webmasters usually work behind the scenes, so they care most about professional skills. (html + CSS + basic SEO + proficiency in 1-2 CMS) If you have the above, you can step into the ranks of webmasters. Me too, I only have these basic skills.
If you go from behind the scenes to the front, such as promoting or running business, you need a professional work image. At the very least, you should talk and dress like someone who works in the Internet industry. We need to work hard, actively communicate with merchants, listen to what merchants are most concerned about and need most, and then make improvements. Provide services according to the needs of merchants. Many webmaster friends are not good at communication and promotion. This was the case when I first promoted in November 2010. But if you want to make a good website, you must overcome it and try your best to do it. The process of doing it is also a process of learning and growing. When you become a successful salesperson, your website will not be far from success.
