Photoshop processes character pictures into classical gouache effects

1. Open the original image material, press Ctrl + J to copy the background layer, and Ctrl + Shift + U to remove the color. After confirming, copy the current decolorized layer to one layer. The effect is as shown below.

2. Press Ctrl + I to invert the copied layer. After confirmation, execute: Filter > Others > Minimum value. The value is 1. After confirmation, change the layer blending mode to "Color Dodge".

3. Select the menu: Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options, adjust the "Next Layer", hold down the Alt key and disassemble the small black triangle on the left to adjust. The parameter settings are as shown below. After confirming, trim the picture cleanly.

4. Duplicate the background layer, press Ctrl + Shift + ] to bring it to the top, and change the layer opacity to: 10%. The effect is as shown below.

5. Copy the background layer again, press Ctrl + Shift + ] to bring it to the top, lower the opacity of the layer appropriately, add a layer mask and use a black brush to erase the parts that do not need to be colored. The effect is as shown below.

6. Duplicate the black and white layer above the background layer, press Ctrl + Shift + ] to bring it to the top, execute: Image > Adjustment > Threshold, set the value, confirm it and then execute: Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, the value is 1. After confirmation, change the layer blending mode to "Multiply", the effect is as shown below.

7. After the above processing, the lines will be much softer, as shown below.
