Most of the simple pattern paintings are black and white pictures outlined with concise lines. Under the magical "magic" of Photoshop, these seemingly simple black and white pattern paintings will become a lifelike handicraft. Below we will transform a pattern painting into a Jade dragon.
Production tool: Photoshop CS, the steps for other versions are similar.
Production process:
1. Open a black and white traditional dragon pattern material, the effect is as shown in Figure 01.
2. Select the "Magic Wand Tool" in the toolbox and click on the white background part of the image to obtain a selection. Press the "Shift+Ctrl+I" keys again to invert the selection to get the dragon's selection. Press the Ctrl+J keys to copy the selection content to a new layer, create a new layer "Layer 1", and fill in the background. is white.
3. Click on layer 1, press Ctrl+T to open the free transformation adjustment box, and hold down the Shift key to shrink layer 1 proportionally.
4. Hold down the Ctrl key and click on layer 1, load the selection, switch to the channel panel, click the Create New Channel button below the channel panel, and create a new Alpha 1 channel. At this time, the selection of layer 1 is loaded into Alpha 1. , the effect is shown in Figure 02.
5. Fill the selection with white and cancel the selection. The image effect is as shown in Figure 03.
6. Execute the "Filter", "Blur" and "Gaussian Blur" commands in the menu bar, and set the radius to 4.5 in the pop-up Gaussian Blur dialog box, as shown in Figure 04.
After clicking OK, the image effect is as shown in Figure 05.
7. Copy the Alpha 1 channel to generate an Alpha 1 copy channel, execute the "Filter", "Others" and "Displacement" commands in the menu bar, set the parameters in the pop-up displacement dialog box as shown in Figure 06, and click OK.
8. Then execute the "Image" and "Calculate" commands in the menu bar to open the calculation dialog box and set the parameters as shown in Figure 07.
After clicking OK, the channel panel generates a new Alpha 2 channel, and the image effect is as shown in Figure 08.
9. Press Ctrl+M to open the "Curve" dialog box and adjust the curve as shown in Figure 09.
Click OK, and the channel panel will generate a new Alpha 3 channel. At this time, the image effect is as shown in Figure 10.
10. Switch to the layer panel, click layer 1, execute the "Image" "Apply Image" command in the menu bar, and in the pop-up Apply Image dialog box, set the parameters as shown in Figure 11.
After clicking OK, the image in the Alpha 3 channel is applied to layer 1, and the effect is shown in Figure 12.
11. Select the "Gradient Fill" tool in the toolbox, click its property bar, enter the gradient editor and set the parameters as shown in Figure 14. The RGB values of the color scale on the left are 34, 141, and 44. Click OK.

Hold down the Shift key and drag from top to bottom with the mouse to create a linear gradient. The final effect of the Jade Dragon is shown in Figure 16.
