Use Photoshop masks to quickly create a bead curtain effect. Let’s take a look at the renderings first:
Here’s how to make it:
First, we create a 60X60 pixel file in Photoshop and set the foreground to black.
Enlarge the canvas, pull out the ruler and guide lines, and first set the guide lines at 20 and 40 pixels horizontally and vertically.
Using a 2 pixel brush (100 hardness and opacity), hold down the Shift key and draw a straight line along the guide.
Adjust the brush size to 6 pixels, press the Caps Lock key to make the brush appear as a cross cursor, click on the intersection of the guide lines, and draw two small circles.
Move the guide position to 10 or 50 pixels (move horizontally and vertically at the same time) and use the rectangular marquee tool to pull out the selection.
Save the selection as a custom pattern. At this point we have created the pattern and can delete the created file.
Open the picture where you want to add the bead curtain and make a copy of it.
Then create a layer between the two layers of pictures and fill it with color (we will fill it with white first)
Add a layer mask to the background copy layer.
Fill the mask with the defining pattern we just made.
