In Photoshop CS2, you can use the text tool to add text to images. Text-related tools seem simple, but there is a lot of knowledge involved. Understanding them can improve your work. What we are going to talk about are 25 tips about writing.
1. This is a useful tip if you want to add control over rendered small text. Double-click on the current text layer to enter input/edit mode. While holding down the Ctrl key, move the text in the image window so that it can be rendered in anti-aliased mode. If you're satisfied with how the anti-aliasing works, just press Ctrl+Enter to apply the changes. Finally, you can position the text however you want without affecting the anti-aliasing effect.
2. When the font size is small or the resolution is low, the anti-aliased text may be rendered somewhat inconsistently. To reduce this inconsistency, just cancel the "Score" in the "Character" floating panel menu. Width" option.
3. Hold down the Alt key when you click or drag a text box to display a paragraph text-sized dialog box. This dialog box will display the current size of the text box, and then you only need to enter the width and height values you want. Another way to check the width and height values is also very simple. You only need to select "Window > Information" when drawing the text box or press the F8 key to open the information floating panel. If you continue to hold down the Alt key when you press the mouse button and prepare to start dragging, the text box will be dragged to the center. Release the mouse button and the dialog box for resizing the text box will appear.
4. To convert point text into paragraph text or vice versa, just right-click on the layer that displays "T" on the floating panel and select "Convert to Paragraph Text", or in the menu: Layer >Text>Convert to paragraph text to select.
5. If you want to modify the properties of several text layers at the same time, such as font, color, size, etc., just associate the layers you want to modify by holding down the Shift key, and then modify the properties.
Note: The application of this feature can be operated in the "Options" floating panel and the "Character" or "Paragraph" floating panel.
6. Although the Edit>Fill command and the paint bucket tool cannot be used in the text layer, Alt+Spacebar (fill with foreground color) and Ctrl+Spacebar (fill with background color) are still available!
7. Make reasonable use of the text tool. Right-click the text layer in the image window to display a related menu with many useful formatting options.
Note: There are more useful options in the right-click menu in ImageReady than in Photoshop.
8. Some fonts may not support bold or italic, so you can try to use faux-bold or faux-italic in the character floating panel menu for them.
Tip: You can also choose faux bold and faux italic by right-clicking on the text layer.
9. When you need to change the size and line spacing in a text or paragraph layer at the same time, hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys.
10. What does using the "View" menu do when you are in input/edit mode? The "Show Extras" command hides selected text.
11. In order to limit certain fonts used by Adobe applications, please put them into C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeFonts.
12. Use the following click or drag methods to enable some advanced text selection features:
Double click - select word (select a word)
Click three times - select a row
Four clicks - select an entire paragraph
Five clicks—selects all characters in the entire text box at once
13. If you encounter some problems when loading Photoshop, you can try to delete the adobefnt.lst file in C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeFonts. Deleting this file will cause Photoshop to recreate its font menu, which may resolve this issue.
14. The font family field in the floating panel of the text tool options in Photoshop has an auto-complete feature. Therefore, you don’t need to search in the font menu. You only need to enter the first few characters in the required font, and Photoshop will automatically Complete its name.
15. When you are in input mode, press Ctrl+T to display the character and paragraph floating panel, or click "Show/Hide Character Paragraph Palette" in the "Options" floating panel.
16. To create a text selection using standard text tools, just turn on Quick Mask mode (edit in Quick Mask mode) and enter the text you want. After submitting the text, it will automatically be converted into an excerpt.
17. To quickly change the font when using the text tool, you need to press the Enter key, highlight the font family field and use the up and down arrow keys or the mouse wheel to select the font.
18. Double-click the thumbnail in the "Layer" palette to highlight all text in the current layer. This is equivalent to the shortcut Ctrl+A and the Select All option in the context menu when in edit mode.
19. If you want to change the properties of all the texts in the current text layer, you do not necessarily need to select the texts: you only need to make the required modifications in the Character/Paragraph palette, and the text layer will Automatically apply changes.
20. You can use the Enter key on the numeric keyboard or Ctrl+Enter on the main keyboard to submit text changes. Press the Esc key to cancel/undo the changes.
Note: These applications correspond to the "Commit all current edits" button in the "Options" floating panel that you usually use to apply text changes, and the "Cancel all current edits" button to cancel the changes.
