This is my first time writing a tutorial. It’s not really a tutorial. It’s just that many friends like this effect.
So I just wrote down the process of how I made this effect. - -#Maybe the explanation is not very clear, but I hope it will be helpful to everyone.
When it comes to step 5, some people say they don’t understand - -#. So I added a picture at the end to talk about step 5.
Let’s post the results first!

1. First open the picture to be processed. It is best to choose a picture with a larger head.
2. Color balance the picture: Midtones: -8.0.-8 Shadows: -9.0.11
(This step is mainly to increase the contrast between cool and warm colors in the picture.
3. Then use hue and saturation to reduce the saturation of red and yellow respectively. I reduced it to -18)
4. Microdermabrasion of the picture. There are many methods of microdermabrasion that I won’t go into here. You can also use a plug-in. You can also use blur, but you must pay attention to retaining the details.
5. After microdermabrasion is complete, it’s time to reach the critical step. That is to apply the smear tool on the skin (please note that the intensity of the smear should not be too strong. The most important thing to apply is the eyes and the most important part. Of course, other things are also important. You must be careful here. Remember to enlarge the picture to paint)
6. After applying, stamp (SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+E)
Duplicate the layer. Delete the color on the duplicate layer (SHIFT+CTRL+U) and then duplicate the decolorized layer. Invert the layer (SHIFT+I).
Change the layer mode to Color Dodge, then go to Filter-Others-Minimum. Merge the layers. Change the layer mode to Multiply. Add a mask and erase the unnecessary ones (this step is mainly to deepen the edges) )
7. Color adjust the picture. I won’t go into details here, just adjust the tone you like.
To adjust the color of the eyes, first draw a selection of the eyes, create a new layer and fill it with your favorite color, then change the layer mode to color.
8. Let’s talk about how to make hair: First, use the pen tool to outline the path of the hair.
9. After drawing the path, change the diameter of the brush to 2 (set the color of the foreground color, where the color of the foreground color is the color of the hair. You can also change the color of the hair later)
Then switch back to the pen tool and right-click on the path point, select the edge path, select the brush as a tool, and pay attention to check the simulated pressure (you will find very little hair coming out of the edge here, so you can copy a few more layers and merge them, copy again and then Move the copy downward and to the right. Use curves to adjust the black dots of the hair on the lower layer, so that it has a sense of layering. The finished hair can be painted with the Burn and Dodge tool.) Here is a screenshot, this Zhang Tu’s hair is done. I hope you won’t be affected.
10. The hair is made part by part. You can wait until everything is done before adjusting the color. I finally use Neat Image to process the skin. Completed
Some people say that the application step is not very clear, so I will explain it. It is best to polish the skin before applying (note that it should also be applied to the skin outside the face). When applying, the intensity should not be too high. Just give it a 5 and it will be enough. When painting the facial features, it is easier to enlarge the picture and paint. When painting the left eye, paint from left to right, and for the right eye, paint from right to left. (The red arrow is the direction in which I paint the eyes. You can also paint by yourself. It looks good. That's it. You can also apply a little bit on the whites of your eyes, and you can do a Gaussian blur of 0.5 on the eyeballs). The skin can go up or down but it must be in one direction. When applying the nose, apply it upwards, which will look better. Apply it to the lips before use. Dodge and add some highlights, then use the Burn Tool to deepen the edges. Also, use it in combination with the Burn and Dodge Tool. I used the Burn Tool where the red lines are right. (Tools are hard to come by. Everyone needs to be flexible. Use) to deepen what you want to deepen, and use dodge where you want to express highlights. (When using burn and dodge, the intensity should not be too high, about 6 is enough)
