Let’s take a look at the effect first:
Below we will use a variety of material pictures to create a night scene picture with strong visual impact.
Create a new file with a size of 858×1024 pixels, create a new layer 1, and use brushes with different effects to draw the background effect as shown in the picture.
Find a picture of a worn cement wall, copy it, then create a new layer 2 and paste it inside. Press "Ctrl+Alt+G" to execute the "Create Clipping Mask" command.
Find a material picture of a worn-out lime wall, copy it, then create a new layer 3 and paste it inside. Press "Ctrl+Alt+G" to execute the "Create Clipping Mask" command.
Create a new layer 4, hold down the "Ctrl" key, click on layer 1 with the mouse to get a selection of layer 1, set the foreground color to dark blue (0b094e), fill layer 4, and set the opacity of layer 4 to 50%.
Find a nebula material picture, copy it, then create a new layer 5 and paste it inside. Press "Ctrl+Alt+G" to execute the "Create Clipping Mask" command. Set its blending mode to "Brightness" and its opacity to 90%.
Find another material picture of the moon, drag it into the file, press "Ctrl+T" and use free transformation to adjust its size.
Find a material picture of reeds, open the channel layer, select a layer with the strongest contrast, here we select the blue channel, copy it to get the blue copy channel, and then press "Ctrl+I" to perform the reverse Order.
Press "Ctrl+L" to execute the color level command, and the dialog box will pop up as shown in the figure.
Hold down the "Ctrl" key and click on the blue copy channel to get a selection of the reeds.
Copy the selection, open the graphic you just edited, create a new layer 7, and paste the reed pattern on layer 7.
Select layer 7 and press "Ctrl+I" to execute the reverse command.
Open a tree material picture, select it according to the method of selecting the reed just now, and drag it into the picture you are editing. To get a layer 8, we place layer 8 between layer 7 and layer 6, and then use the Free Transform command to make the tree smaller.
Create a new layer 9, choose a few colors you like and apply them on layer 9.
Now execute the "Filter" → "Blur" → "Gaussian Blur" command with a blur radius of 55. And set the layer blending mode to "Hue".
Duplicate layer 9 to get a copy of layer 9, change its blending mode to "Saturation" and its opacity to 25%.
Set the foreground color to black, select the brush tool, create a new layer 10, and draw some bird images.
Create a new layer 11, select the brush tool, and use the ink stain brush to draw the pattern as shown.
Create a new layer 12, execute the "Edit" → "Fill" command, and set the pop-up dialog box as shown in the figure.
Set the blending mode of layer 12 to "Linear Light" and the opacity to 15%.
Now let's see the final result.
