The 2008 European Cup can be said to be the biggest football feast that fans are looking forward to. It is also the closest large-scale top football tournament to us. We can see countless world football superstars performing their amazing stunts at the European Cup. In the following article, the author will use Photoshop CS3 to tell you how to make a "2008 European Cup Poster".
We take a warm-up match of "Germany VS France" as an example to give you a detailed explanation with pictures and text. The final effect is shown in Figure 1. In the production of this case, the "Add Noise", "Dry Brush" and "Care Effect" commands in the filter were mainly used. The specific operations and techniques are as follows:

1. Make poster background
(1) Execute the "File → New" command, open the "New" dialog box, set the "Name" to "European Cup Poster Design", "Width" to "16 cm", "Height" to "12 cm", "Resolution" Rate" is "150 pixels/inch", "Color Mode" is "RGB Color", "Background Content" is "White", click the "OK" button. Select the "Pen Tool" in the toolbox, click the "Path" button in the property bar, and draw the path as shown in Figure 2.

(2) Create a new "Layer 1", click the "Set Foreground Color" button below the toolbox, set the foreground color to: dark red (R:130, G:46, B:12), press "Ctrl+Enter" Use the key combination to convert the path into a selection, press the "Alt+Delete" key combination to fill the selection with color, and press the "Ctrl+D" key combination to cancel the selection. Select the "Pen Tool" in the toolbox and draw a path in the window, as shown in Figure 3.

(3) Create a new "Layer 2", use the same method, set the foreground color to: dark yellow (R:138, G:115, B:74), press the "Ctrl+Enter" key combination to convert the path into a selection , and press the "Alt+Delete" key combination to fill the selection with the color shown in Figure 4, and press the "Ctrl+D" key combination to cancel the selection. Execute the "Filter → Noise → Add Noise" command to open the "Add Noise" dialog box, set the amount to 8, select Even Distribution, and check the Monochrome option.

(4) Execute the "Filter → Artistic Effect → Dry Brush" command to open the "Dry Brush" dialog box. Set the dialog parameters brush size to 2, brush details to 8, and texture parameters to 1. Press the "OK" button. Select "Layer 1" and "Layer 2", press "Ctrl+E" key combination to merge the layers, and rename them: Layer 1.
(5) Execute the "File → Open" command or press the "Ctrl+O" key combination to open the material picture: "Football Game.tif". Select the "Move Tool" in the toolbox, drag the graphic to the "World Cup Poster Design" file window, the layer panel automatically generates "Layer 2", and drag "Layer 2" to the bottom of "Layer 1" On one layer, press the "Ctrl+T" key combination to adjust the size and position of the graphic as shown in Figure 5, and press the "Enter" key to confirm.

2. Create special effects text (1) Select "Layer 1", select the "Pen Tool" in the toolbox, and draw a path in the window. Create a new "Layer 3", use the same method, set the foreground color to: dark red (R:130, G:46, B:12), press the "Ctrl+Enter" key combination, convert the path into a selection, and press "Alt+Delete" key combination, fill the selection color as shown in Figure 6, press "Ctrl+D" key combination to cancel the selection.

(2) Select the "Eraser Tool" in the toolbox, set the "Brush" size on the property bar to: soft angle 300 pixels, and erase the graphics in the window as shown in Figure 7. Set the foreground color to: white (R:255, G:255, B:255), select the "Horizontal Text Tool" in the toolbox, and enter text in the window as shown in Figure 8.

(3) Execute the "Layer → Layer Style → Stroke" command to open the "Layer Style" dialog box. In the dialog box, set the "Color" of the stroke to: dark red (R:130, G:46, B: 12), set the parameter size to 2, the position parameter to external, the blending mode to normal, and set dark red as the background color. After setting the "Stroke" parameters, select the "Shadow" checkbox, set the blending mode parameters to Multiply, the opacity to 76%, the angle to 120, the distance parameter to 6, the expansion parameter to 0, and the size parameter to 6. That’s it.
(4) Select the "Horizontal Text Tool" in the toolbox and enter text in the window. Select the "2008 European Cup Warm-up Match" text layer, right-click the mouse, and select the "Copy Layer Style" command in the shortcut menu. Select the "00:50 Germany-France" text layer, right-click the mouse, and select the "Paste Layer Style" command in the shortcut menu. The text effect after "Pasting layer style" is shown in Figure 9.

3. Load picture materials (5) Execute the "File → Open" command or press the "Ctrl+O" key combination to open the material picture: "European Cup.tif" as shown in Figure 10. Select the "Move Tool" in the toolbox, drag the graphic to the "European Cup Poster Design" file window, the layer panel will automatically generate "European Cup", and press the "Ctrl+T" key combination to adjust the size and position of the graphic as follows: As shown in Figure 11, press "Enter" key to confirm.

(6) Select the "Horizontal Text Tool" in the toolbox and enter the text "ouzhoubei" in the window. Click the "Create Text Deformation" button on the property bar to open the "Deformed Text" dialog box, select the "Sector" style in the "Style" drop-down list, set the parameters as shown in Figure 12, and press the "OK" button.

(7) Select the "SHIJIEBEI" text layer, right-click the mouse, and select the "Paste Layer Style" command in the shortcut menu. The text effect after "Paste Layer Style" is as shown in Figure 13.

(8) Select the "Brush Tool" in the toolbox, click the "Brush" drop-down button on the property bar, and select the "Star Radial-Small" brush style in the list. Create a new "Layer 4", adjust the size of the brush and click the mouse multiple times at this position to draw a radiation effect.
(9) Execute the "Filter→Rendering→Lighting Effect" command, open the "Lighting Effect" dialog box, select the "Full Light Source" style in the "Lighting Type" drop-down list, and adjust the "Exposure" to: -15, such as As shown in Figure 14, press the "OK" button. After performing the above operations, the final effect is shown in Figure 15.

At this point, all the operations are completed. Through the above operations, you can make the same mistake and create your favorite "football poster design" at will. When making it, you only need to find the poster photos you like, cut them, and add text with different special effects to complete a beautiful creative poster design.
Finally, I need to remind everyone that the author used the latest version of Photoshop CS3 for the operation of this case. If the reader's Photoshop version is CS2 or other older versions, the production can also be completed according to the above process, and there is not much difference.
