one. Define the pattern first
1. 50x50 fill with black, select all (ctrl+a) copy (ctrl+c)
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_03.jpg)
2. Open a new file 50x100 and paste (ctrl+v) black on top

3. Edit--->Define Pattern

two. Make a displacement diagram
1. 500x1000 Add a new layer and fill it with any color --->0

2. Layer Style ---> Pattern Fill (image defined above)
Add a new layer below to merge these two layers

3. Gaussian blur and then select and copy
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_08.jpg)
4. Open a new file 500x500 and paste it
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_09.jpg)
5. Move the graph up, but not to the bottom where the Gaussian blur is inconsistent
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_11.jpg)
6. Duplicate layer 1 (ctrl+j) and press v (move tool)
Hold down the shift key and move the arrow key down twice (i.e. 20 pixels down)
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_11.gif)
7. Duplicate layer 1 again (ctrl+j)
Hold down the shift key and move the arrow key down twice (i.e. 20 pixels down)
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_11.gif)
Do this three more times for a total of five
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_12.jpg)
If it were animated at this time... it would look like this:

8. Perform polar coordinate selection and select all the top layer (ctrl+a) polar coordinates
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_14.gif)
The same goes for the next 4 layers, repeat polar coordinates (ctrl+f)

9. Save displacement map...
Crop first... Select Crop All to crop the parts outside the layer.

10. The copy of layer 1 is saved as RippleMap_002
And so on, a total of 5 RippleMap

This can be regarded as a set of templates...
If you want to create a ripple effect in the future, you can start from the next step without having to start from scratch every time.
3. Create ripple effect
1. Paste the picture you want to make ripples on
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_20.jpg)
Copy it 4 times and place it below each displacement map.
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_21.jpg)
2. Start using the displacement filter from the bottom image
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_22.jpg)
The settings are as follows:
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_23.jpg)
Then select RippleMap_001.psd
The deformation is obtained as follows...
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_24.jpg)
. Repeat the filter (ctrl+f) on the displacement map above
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_25.jpg)
4. Continue the transformation and this time select RippleMap_002.psd
And so on...
![Photoshop creates ripple animation effect](https://images.downcodes.com/u/info_img/2009-08/19/080517_edu_ps_26.jpg)
5. Then set a layer style on the top displacement map to express the light and dark effect (you can try other modes) and add this layer style.
Apply this layer style to other displacement maps
6. Just crop it and you can make animation :)
