The author will teach users how to easily create an impressive underwater scene without going into the water or actually sinking a ship. The author chose to start with a typical ship photo, gradually adding various interesting elements, and finally combined it into a stunning work. Let’s take a look at the renderings and related material pictures first:
Materials used:
· Create a new blank document · Insert a beach photo as the background of the seabed · Free transform (Ctrl+T, or Edit-Free Transform/Transform-Perspective) on the "seabed" and select perspective mode
·Duplicate the "Undersea" layer ·Use color balance, level, hue/saturation to adjust the color of "Undersea" ·Click the quick mask icon (switch to quick mask mode) and draw a linear black and white within the mask Gradient effect (from bottom to top, hold down shift to maintain a straight line)
·Click the Quick Mask icon again (leave Quick Mask), Filter·Blur·Gaussian Blur
·Create a new layer and insert the material picture of the sea surface ·Repeat the previous action (use Free Transform-Perspective to adjust the picture to the appropriate angle; create a gradient blur effect)
·Duplicate the sea layer again·Edit-Transform-Flip Vertical
·Move this layer above the "Sea Floor" layer and stretch the image to a suitable size (just covering the sea floor)
·Image-Adjustments-Levels, move the middle gray slider to the right and the white slider to the left to enhance the contrast of the picture
·Select the layer blending mode to Multiply and the transparency to 80-90%
·Create a black and white gradient mask
·Return to the sea surface layer·Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to create a rectangular selection (as shown in the picture)
·Copy and paste to a new layer, above the water reflection layer
·Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur (25)
·Filter-Blur-Motion Blur (0, 400)
·Extend this area vertically
· Insert a photo of the ship · Add a vector gradient mask and erase part of the bottom of the hull to give it the appearance of being inserted into the sand.
· Hold down CTRL and click on the ship layer · Create a new layer · Fill it with a linear gradient from black to transparent · Free Transform - Flip Vertical · Edit - Transform - Bevel · Move this layer below the ship layer
