This article records my personal experience of a corporate website ranking high in Baidu, then not ranking, and then recovering. The so-called "demotion by Baidu" is as follows: the homepage of the domain name of the site is not at the first place, and the snapshot stops updating. New pages are no longer included. Keywords that previously ranked high are not ranked or have been dropped to dozens of pages. The homepage of the search company name is not at the first place.
Before the website was demoted, the search company name homepage ranked first, the site domain name homepage ranked first, snapshots were updated daily, and new articles were included within 30 minutes after they were published. For a website that has been basically idle for 6 years , I am personally very satisfied with the effect achieved within one month of re-revision and activation. This process will be written out specifically in the future. Since new links published on the homepage are indexed very quickly by Baidu, every time I create a new page, I want to put a link on the homepage. I feel very happy when I see the new page being indexed by Baidu immediately. This is also a common problem of many novice webmasters. : Not calm. The keywords targeted by the newly created pages are in the form of place names + industry keywords, which is also the method adopted by many websites. At first I didn't dare to rush forward, so I made a page and waited for it to be included in Baidu. Unexpectedly, it was included very quickly, and the ranking was pretty good. I repeated the same method after a few days, and the effect was still very good. I did this frequently in the future, and created several similar ones a day. When the page comes out, links such as place names + industry keywords are placed on the homepage. When I was feeling complacent about my little cleverness, one day I suddenly found that the traffic dropped by more than half, and there were no more searches from Baidu. From that day on, Baidu no longer included new articles. Other manifestations have been described at the beginning of this article. The only thing is that the number of included sites has not dropped, which shows that the site has not been completely destroyed by Baidu and can still be saved.
That same day, I removed the links to those new pages on the homepage of the site, eliminating the only possible reason for being penalized: keyword stuffing. Later, I will go to the Internet to read posts and learn how others deal with it at this time. But it seems that it is nothing more than the same sentence: insist on updating, and then wait. In this way, I still update more than 10 pieces of information at about the same time every day. More importantly, these articles are all original. The originality mentioned here means that you can never find articles with the same or similar content on other websites. After more than a week of this, there was still no response from Baidu, so I was a little shaken. With a villain's heart, I asked Baidu's "gentleman": Did Baidu find that my ranking rose too fast and intervened manually? Later, I asked a professional to express my opinion, but he didn't think so. They said: There are so many websites, how can Baidu people have so much time to mess with you? At the same time, he asked me to keep updating every day and send more external links.
For daily updates, it is not difficult if there is a source of content, but it is not so easy to find friendly links. Since the PR of the website is only 2, many webmasters ignored me. Some directly said that your PR was too low. After searching for dozens of websites, I was linked to only three. It seems that I have to change my approach and send out external links on major blog sites. I have applied for NetEase/Sina/Sohu/Hexun/Phoenix/Blogbus, and post purely original articles on the website to the newly applied blog, with a link to the original copyright statement at the end, so that the meaning of the advertisement is not too obvious, and other websites generally All are acceptable. During this period, I found that Google included new articles from blogbus and Hexun very quickly, sometimes in only 5 minutes, followed by NetEase blog. After doing this for more than ten days, I found that the ranking in Baidu still did not respond, but the total number of included websites increased. This gave me a reason to persist and still publish more than a dozen original articles every day.
After more than 20 days, the website held an event to give away products for free, requiring those who received the product to first post a log with the event URL in their own blog or space. This way, there were more external links, which was more important. The thing is that some people’s blogs are frequently updated. After they posted the activity log with the URL, it was quickly included in Google. I think it is very useful for high-authority blogs to post external links.
Just three days before the website was demoted a month later, I habitually checked the index, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the number of Baidu indexes had increased again. I immediately went to the site to check, and the long-lost homepage of the website finally appeared in the first place. I checked the original ranking keywords and almost all of them are back. I’m really excited! Then I thought, if I had to calm down, maybe I would go back the next day? As a result, I waited another day the next day and it was still there. Now I felt a little more at ease. Don't be too aggressive in the future, new pages will be included sooner or later.
Finally, I miss blogbus, such a good position was shut down like this. Blogbus, come back soon!
