In my previous article "Poor website inclusion is caused by web page similarity", I have discussed three main reasons for web page similarity. The head of the web page, the sides and navigation of the web page, and the bottom of the web page account for 25% to 30% of the similarity of the web page. In this chapter, I will teach you how to reduce the similarity of web pages, thereby improving the inclusion of the website. Nowadays, many webmasters choose to apply templates when building websites, and even the keywords and descriptions of web pages are unified. Therefore, many webmasters are really distressed that their original content is not included in Baidu, or even if it is included, the previous content has been removed.
Home page header. First of all, we ensure that each web page has a different title and description. Note that the difference here refers to title and description. So what about keywords? Yes, the keywords can be the same, but the title and description must be different. In this way, we reduced the similarity ratio of the web page header from the previous 10% to 0.
Secondly, the navigation and sidebar of the web page. Through many websites, we found that they have a common feature, that is, they all have the same navigation bar whether on the homepage, list page or content page of the website. So when will this navigation be crawled by search engines and when will it not be crawled? Here I will teach you a little method. The navigation of the homepage needs to be crawled by spiders so that it can continue to crawl our columns and content at level 2 or below. But when it comes to the list page, do we want the spider to crawl the content of the <a> tag on the list as soon as possible? Yes, at this time we need to avoid letting the spider stay too much on other <a> tags, and the navigation bar is the first to do so.
In the past, on our list page, when a spider came in, we still had to read the navigation bar, which extended the time to read our important information. Now we will use some techniques that spiders cannot see to block this part, so that spiders can quickly know what the web page is about. Therefore, on the list page of the website, we re-create a head.html template, and the navigation bar part is written with <javascript>, so that when the spider reads the meta part of the web, it can directly enter our main content area. <Javascript> and div+CSS or <table> provide the same effect to users, but spiders look at the code and ignore the content inside <javascript>. This will reduce the problem of duplication of navigation bars between many web pages.
The sidebar is called with content from related industries. The web page code of the sidebar is set to use tags to extract articles or columns with the same tag. The same principle applies to the content pages of the website. In this case, the similarity between the navigation bar and the sidebar is reduced to less than 5%.
The bottom of the final page. Many people stand on this issue without paying attention. Why? In order to save time and energy, they have the same friendly links and copyright information at the bottom of the entire website. This part accounts for 5% to 10% of the similarity of the web page, and it is a place that cannot be ignored. What we do here is that the home page contains all the friendly links, and the list page will not have too many same friendly links. They will only be related to related industries. When it comes to the content page, there will be no friendly links. Because the friendly links here are meaningless and will not convey too much weight. When the copyright information reaches the list page and content page, it will be replaced by some pictures.
Why I used a lot of words to explain why these three parts are not important on the content page is to show the difference between the main content and other content pages, so that search engines think you are a brand new article. The inclusion will not exclude previous articles with the same content. Even if the similarity of the article content reaches 50%, we can use anchor text to increase the relevance. The search engine will think that your article is of high quality and will give it a certain weight. It is best to reduce the similarity between web pages to about 55%, then your articles will be included without excluding previous content. Having said so much, I hope everyone can understand something.
