This tutorial mainly introduces some techniques for coloring black and white photos. If you don’t know what color will look better on each part of the picture, then you can find a color picture to refer to and see what colors are suitable for skin, lips, clothes, etc. This makes coloring much faster!
Original picture
final effect
1. Open the original image, create a new layer, and change the layer blending mode to "Color". In order to achieve the most realistic skin, we will open a full-color MM image.
2. Use a color straw to absorb the skin color of the character’s face.
3. Select the brush tool, set the hardness to about 20%, and apply color on the character's skin.
4. Same as above to create colors for lips, eyes and clothes.
5. Appropriately increase the saturation of the skin color layer to make the skin look more rosy, and you can also add background foil.
6. Merge all layers, press Ctrl + J to copy the layer, change the layer opacity to: 80%, and change the layer blending mode to "Screen", select the menu: Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur Value is: 1.2
7. Merge the layers again and press Ctrl + M to create the final effect.
